Nuevo Vallarta Update - Boots On The Ground #3

January 24, 2014

As promissed, Boots on the Ground #3 attended the Owner's Update and had this to say:
I got answers to many....questions but not all.

We are six adults staying in our 3 bdrm Spa unit on the north side of building IVA on the sixth floor. As anticipated, we found the unit very spacious. However, the layout of the kitchen is a big disappointment compared to the Luxxe units (stovetop and sink are together on a very small counter facing a side wall).

There is also very little cupboard space not taken up by the standard complement of dishes for the unit.

The deck feels crowded with a bed, two lounges, a round table with three(?) chairs and several other small tables. The cooling pond is large but we question the value of it - doubt we will use it. I've been taking temperatures of the pond about 4 times per day for the past 2 days and it is consistently near 26 C (79 F), even when the morning air is quite a bit cooler - I suspect it may be heated, a bit.

At the moment there is very significant earth work under way on the north side of Towers III & IV involving two dozers, a grader, a tracked hoe, and 4/5 dump trucks. Previously completed grading is being completely revised and they've set up lights and continue to work until 9 PM. The noise is unbearable even inside our unit.

The Spa pools on the south side of the buildings appear to be complete and they have water in them. Apparently they will not be opened until the exterior of Tower IVB is completed - likely quite a few months from now.

The Loft units in Tower IIIB and IVA may be completed by May. No more sales of Loft units - they are sold out (and very impressive).

Work on Tower V continues; were told it will contain only 4 bdrm units.

The on-site shuttle train should be running by early March. This is not the train that will be running to the airport, which we were told would be running by the end of the year. Also, the boats that will run within the canal system should also be running in about a month (we saw the inventory of boats in a parking lot).

Construction on the Greg Norman golf course is to begin in February and the first 9 holes should be open by July - that's what we were told. There will be a new pro shop associated with this course - don't know if the current pro shop will remain or not.

Construction of the Celebration facility will start in about three months and will run approximately four years. The Cirque show could be open in about 18 months.

Construction is under way at East Cape (Cabos) with buildings for Presidential and Luxxe units likely to be completed first, Grand Bliss and Bliss also planned. Timing unknown.

The building with a very limited number of Presidential suites located beachfront on the Mayan Riviera is now available.

Thank you Boots for takiing the time to share with us what you learned. Definitely interesting, especially the part about the opening of a limited number of Presdential Suites on the Vidanta beachfront in Riviera Maya. Fascinating!!
We all appreciate hearing your update....and we all will stay tuned!
